Founder
Paulette Atang grew up dancing, gained professional dance experience, and had big dreams to advance her dance career. From competitions, pro dance teams, and music videos -- she was confident she had her dance career figured out.
By the grace of the Most High, she surrendered her life to the Creator in 2023 and the Lord began tugging on her heart when it came to dance. No longer feeling comfortable with the spaces she was dancing in, the type of music, and the dance movements, she fully surrendered dance to God in 2025 and trusted Him with her gift of dance. Due to a lack of non-worldy dance communities in the DMV where she could train in dance and gain community, she became content with the idea that she may never perform or get another dance booking again.
But God.
He placed it upon her heart to begin teaching Kingdom dance classes in the DMV to create that safe space! She is excited for how the Lord is growing TRENDSETTERS and feels blessed to be able to use her gift how the Lord always wanted: to advance the Kingdom of God!
The Birth of TRENDSETTERS
TRENDSETTERS is a dance ministry creating space for sons and daughters of the Creator to worship Him through movement. Rooted in Romans 12:2, our mission is to cultivate a community where dancers renew their minds through the Word of God and glorify Him with excellence.
At TRENDSETTERS, we believe worship through dance should reflect the character of the Most High—bold, creative, and excellent. We challenge the stigma that artistic spaces that honor God must be low-quality or limited. Our God is an AWEsome God, and we believe His children should reflect that in everything we do.
This is a space where you can be fully who God created you to be—set apart, free, and unashamed.
